2022 | BUDGET SKINCARE ROUTINE (products under €15,-)
12-06-2022

Hey Cherries! How great to have you all coming back to a new blog post! For those who don't know me yet, welcome and join me, because today I'm going to share my current skincare routine for the face. All the products I'm going to mention below are largely affordable for everyone, because every product is under €15, some of which are even under €10. This skincare routine is suitable for all seasons.

Lately I have received a lot of questions about how I currently take care of my face, because the condition has improved so much. In particular: "I want exactly what you have now. It might also work well on my problem skin, etc." So I'm going to go through it all with you (^.^)

Before we go any further I want to make it very clear that the products below are NOT sponsored. I have been using a large part of the products below for more than 1.5 years for my face.

EVENING / NIGHT

KIKO MILANO PURE CLEAN EYES & LIPS -- Price €6,99 (2022) -- Review available on my blog? Yes

When I come home from a long day in general or a long day at work, I want nothing more than to take my makeup off the face. I always start with my eyes and lips first. To remove the eye and lip makeup of my face, I like to use this Kiko Milano product. This product is only formulated for the eyes and lips. So please don't use it over the rest of the face.

The product consists of two parts. The active ingredient and secondly, the oil. You have to shake the bottle well before use. Then apply a small amount on a cotton pad and place the cotton pad on the closed eye for a few seconds. After a few seconds you can easily wipe off the eye makeup. Repeat the process on the other eye and lips if necessary.

The Kiko Milano Pure Clean Eyes & Lips is my biggest favorite in eye makeup and lip makeup removing so far. I really recommend this product for everyone. It's a must have on my vanity! PS You can also buy this product in travel size. Travel size is cheaper.

KIKO MILANO PURE CLEAN MILK & TONE -- Price €5,99 (2022)  -- Review available on my blog? Yes

I use a 2-in-1 product to remove my face makeup. This product is a cleansing milk and toner in one. What I especially like about this product is the texture and the fact that it is not greasy. The texture is as light as a feather, so the product spreads easily over the face. It doesn't give break-outs and also doesn't leave an oily film.

I must confess that this is not the very best cleansing milk I have tried so far, but much better than the amount of cleansing milk from the past. In general, it doesn't take everything with it when it comes to facial makeup, but it does take a lot! Can be used all over the face. It does its job okay. A double cleanse is not always necessary, but for myself I always do a double cleanse to make sure that all the makeup is off my face.

This product is good enough and a good deal in my opinion, because most cleansing milks and toners are much more expensive. If you are budget wise, then this is a product I can recommend.

FLORENCE BY MILLS CLEAN MAGIC FACE WASH -- Price €14,99 (2022) -- Review available on my blog? No

One of the products I like to use in the evening or at night for a double cleanse when I'm traveling is the Florence by Mills Clean Magic Face Wash. This product comes with a volume of 100ml and is easy to carry in the bag. When I first bought this product, the product wasn't yet available in travel size. So for a long time I had to do it with the normal amount when it came to traveling and it worked out great!

The face wash feels like a cream on the face and contains healthy ingredients to gently cleanse the skin. This wash contains a mix of seaweed, ivy, lemon and sage to remedy the production of excess sebum. This keeps the pores clean from impurities. The product also contains ferulic acid, which is a vegetal antioxidant. Ferulic acid in cosmetics is known to prevent dirt from the outside.

The product is also suitable for in the shower and morning, but I prefer to use it in the evening. It removes makeup, oil and air-polluting dirt from the pores.

CERAVE HYDRATING CLEANSER FOR NORMAL TO DRY SKIN -- Price €11,95 (2022) -- Review available on my blog? No

Another product I like to use in the evening or night for a double cleanse is the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser. This mild cleansing cream has become one of my favorite facial cleansing products. Why? The product is available in different sizes, very effective and affordable for everyone! I use the variant specially developed for normal to dry skin.

This product comes in three different sizes:

- 88ml

- 236ml

- 473ml (I use this size, which means that I also pay more for the product. Of course it is even cheaper when you go for one of the other two)

This cleansing cream contains three essential ceramides (ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II) that help to restore the level of ceramides in the skin and soothe dry skin by limiting moisture loss. Hydration will be increased and the skin's natural barrier will be restored. Another fun fact is that this product is not only meant to be used on the face. You can use this product all over the entire body and also in the shower. This product is suitable for both adults and children. It contains no soap and no perfume. The product is hypoallergenic.

The cleansing cream is ideal for every morning and evening cleansing, but is not ideal as a makeup remover. So use a good makeup remover before this product to remove most makeup from the face (^.^)

When I've removed all my makeup in the evening or night, all I need to do is moisturize my face. I do this with one of the products on the left or a combination of both. I actually use a combination of both products on the left in the cold autumn days or winter when the skin needs more hydration.

The first product I often use in the evening is 100% cold-pressed olive oil. So 100% pure olive oil on the face.

Now you are probably wondering how I got the idea of starting to use olive oil on the

face. It's actually a funny story. A year ago I had a really boring day. I don't remember exactly when it was and why I was so bored, but for some reason I came up with the crazy idea of following old beauty tips. Just out of curiosity to see how people used to do it all. Then I came across a YouTube video about beauty tips from ancient Egypt and Greece. A much discussed oil was olive oil. Then I started looking for properties and interviewed several professionals in the field of natural cosmetics and facials. In the end I was so blown away that I also tried it out and if you want to know... Yes, it really helps! Although the effect is not visible in the short term. You will have to be patient for months.

I don't really have a preference for olive oil when it comes to the brand. I always visit a healthy store or store with 100% natural facial products and then look for olive oil that is on sale. Often these are also sold under €10. I always pay close attention to whether it is really 100% cold-pressed olive oil.

Olive oil is known to naturally contain a high dose of vitamin E. This is an antioxidant that protects the skin against external influences. Think of UV rays or the wind. It also helps to slow down the process of premature wrinkles or to make existing wrinkles / fine lines less deep for a healthier skin appearance. The light texture of olive oil ensures that the oil does not stick, but this oil is slightly thicker than most oils. So you would like to let it absorb well (about fifteen minutes) before you go to sleep.

I always buy the oil in a large bottle and then I tip it over into a smaller bottle on which I can turn a pipette. Of course when the small bottle is empty, I clean everything, disinfect it and use it again. I like working with these kinds of bottles better than a large bottle.

TIP: Do you want to save on makeup removers or don't have your makeup remover at hand? Olive oil is very suitable for removing makeup from the face. It not only cleanses the face of makeup naturally, but also removes dead skin cells.

EUCERIN AQUAPHOR SKIN SOOTHING BALM -- Price about €8,- for travel size and €15,- for normal size
(2022) (Price depends on the  (online) drugstore / pharmacy)

-- Review available on my blog? Yes

The second product I use in the evening is my holy grail from the Eucerin brand. The Aquaphor Skin Soothing Balm. As mentioned before, I only use this product in combination with the olive oil in the cold autumn days or the winter season. I actually use this product more than the olive oil lately, because it moisturizes my skin better and I find it a nice product on my face.

This product has been on the market for many years, clinically proven and is a big favorite among several celebrities. Perhaps one of your favorite celebrities also uses this product. It is especially an ideal product for dry skin and skin that suffers from eczema.

What the ointment actually does is create an ideal protective barrier for skin regeneration. In other words, it provides good care to accelerate skin regeneration while protecting the targeted area. It thus restores very dry to extremely dry skin after external influences or by dermatological superficial treatments.

The nice thing about this product is that it contains no perfume and preservatives, making it a mild product for the face. What I really like about this product is that it has no dosage and you can also use it on other parts of the body. So not just your face. You can apply the product as often as you need. If you like to keep it in a nighttime routine, like me, I recommend applying this product on the face a few hours before going to sleep, because unfortunately it takes a while until it is largely absorbed. It is an ointment that can stick. So you don't want this on your pillow while sleeping.

If you let it absorb well and you wake up the next day, the skin is so finely nourished and hydrated. This is a product that I can and do recommend to anyone with very dry to dry skin or eczema skin!

MORNING

Good morning Cherries! When I'm awake and my body cooperates by letting me get out of bed, I cleanse my face again with the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser to keep my face hydrated and fresh for my morning ritual. In the morning I like to use a combination of oil and face cream before applying my sunscreen. I don't use special primers for makeup. So these products provide my perfect base for both a day with and without makeup.

In the morning I like to use a different type of oil than in the evening. 100% cold-pressed almond oil (not recommended for people with a nut allergy!) Also with almond oil I have no preference on a particular brand. I always look in a health store or store with natural products what is in stock or on sale. As long as it's 100% cold-pressed almond oil, I'm happy. I also shake these bottles in a bottle where I can use a pipette. Coincidentally, the bottle in the photo is from an old hair product I tried out. I completely cleaned and disinfected this one before I actually started using it as storage for my almond oil. I often use almond oil in combination with my Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA face cream from The Ordinary. I occasionally use it purely on the face, but this also depends on the condition of my skin.

Almond oil is multifunctional. It is a powerful oil and has a rejuvenating function thanks to the amount of vitamins in the oil. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E. In addition, the oil contains minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, iron, sulfur and phosphorus. Also protein and carbohydrates. It is often used to this day to limit aesthetic damage from stretch marks. Also to refine and even counteract fine wrinkles. Although it has more of an effect on stretch marks. Another well-known effect is that almond oil counteracts inflammation within the skin, making redness less visible in the long term. I mainly use almond oil to keep my natural redness in check and it has done a good job so far. Most of my redness has disappeared like snow in the sun. Of course, the effect is not visible in the short term and you have to use it for a longer period of time.

THE ORDINARY NATURAL MOISTURIZING FACTORS + HA CREAM -- Price €10,36 for 100ml and €5,56 for 30ml (2022)
-- Review available on my blog? No
I LOVE THIS CREAM! As you can see in the picture, this product is used by me with a lot of love. I am now over half way through. The texture of this product is super fine and the cream feels nice when applied. What is also great about this cream is that you can mix it with other products for a better result and it absorbs quickly into the skin. I think this makes a great combo with my almond oil.

This product is made for skin that needs hydration, but it doesn't provide a high level of hydration. This product is not strong enough for that, but if you combine it with another moisturizing product, the effect will also be better. This is more of a cream for someone who needs a little replenishment. It is free from microplastics, silicones, paraffin, parabens, sulfate, comedogenic, perfume, gluten, acetone, lactose, phthalate, ammonia and pigment. It also contains no oily ingredients or traces of nut ingredients. Since this product has been carefully formulated, it's also ideal for people with sensitive skin.

1) COSRX ALOE SOOTHING SUN CREAM SPF50+ PA+++ -- Price about €10,- (depends on the webshop) -- Review available on my blog? Yes

2) RITUALS THE RITUALS OF KARMA SUN PROTECTION FACE CREAM  SPF30 -- Price €15,50 (a bit above the 15,- , but I´m not counting this one, because it is almost the budget price ^.^) -- Review available on my blog? No

The very last step in my skincare routine is sunscreen. I always have to put this on my skin (whether I'm wearing makeup or not), because I can't live without including this in my routine since the moment I officially started using sunscreen.

In the last photo you see two different sunscreens that I use with a lot of love. I own a sunscreen made by the South Korean brand COSRX and I have one from RITUALS. Which of the two I use on the day actually depends on which of the two I need. So one time I take the one from COSRX and the other time the one from RITUALS. Both sunscreens differ a lot from each other and have different properties. So I'm not going to compare them.

Normally I prefer to use a sunscreen for the face with at least factor 40 or higher, but at the time of purchase the RITUALS sunscreen in SPF50 was sold out nationwide (also online!). So I bought the SPF30 variant. Protected, but you need to apply the cream more often.

After my whole skincare routine, I am ready to go into the day or to apply makeup (^.^) I sincerely hope that my current facial skincare routine helps you as much as it has helped me so far. Of course, you can also add your own twist to my facial skincare routine by just trying/using a few products. If you have become interested in a number of products and I have written a review about them, you can certainly find them on my blog! I'd love to hear from you if you have any questions and I hope to see you again soon in perhaps a future facial skincare routine or other blog post!
