Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm

Hi Cherries and welcome to my review of the Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm.

 

In my own environment I have had many questions about how I treat my skin on the face in the evening and how I care for less cracked / dry skin. So in this review I'm going to talk about my holy grail balm which I've been using for a year now. I'm going to discuss both the pros and cons of this product.

 

The skin can sometimes irritate and crack due to external influences or after superficial dermatological treatments. Therefore, it needs proper care to accelerate skin regeneration while protecting the targeted area. The Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm is a product that is clinically proven to restore the skin positively.

 

The formula soothes and repairs very dry to extremely dry, cracked or irritated skin, creating an ideal protective barrier for skin regeneration. This is also a good product for people who have a problem with eczema. It is a mild ointment without perfume and preservatives, which also works well on sensitive skin.

 

 

 

Use it with:
- Dry, cracked skin
- Dry hands and cuticles
- Cracked feet and heels
- Eczema
- Sensitive baby skin (useful to know if you are a (future) mother)

 

In short, you can use the product on different parts of the body and not just your face. Personally, I like having this product on my face, but you can literally apply it everywhere you need. The advantage with this product is that there is no dosage attached. You can apply the balm on the skin as often as you like. Super useful when you are in a difficult period regarding your own skin!

Casing, texture and fragrance | Pros and Cons
The Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm comes in a tube with the Eucerin Aquaphor features. I couldn't describe it better, because I always think all Eucerin products look medical. Which isn't wrong, because this gives me a really good feeling ^^ My tube has a content of 40 grams, which makes it easier for travel, but you can also get this product in a tube of 198 grams. Keep in mind that the tube of 198 grams is more expensive.

 

For a tube of 40 grams you pay about €8,- in the Netherlands. It also depends a bit on the (online) drugstore / pharmacy. Price will sometimes differ.

The Eucerin balm is colorless, but like any balm it has a thick texture. It's a greasy balm and with no fragnance, because the product contains no perfume.

Pros

  • Clinically proven product that has been selling well on the market for many years.
  • Very good result.
  • Can be used on different parts of the body.
  • No dosage attached. You can apply it as often as you need.
  • Well formulated, making it not only for dry skin, but also for the most sensitive skin.
  • Can be combined with various skincare products, making it easy to incorporate into a particular routine.
  • Affordable !
  • Comes in both regular and travel size.
  • Hygienic packaging.
  • You can feel and see when the product runs out.
  • Can be used as a base for highlighter (I tried this and you get a really nice glow!)

Cons

  • The product is difficult to squeeze out of the tube. There is some force needed. Can be really annoying now and then, because sometimes you take just a little too much product.
  • The texture is thick and the product is greasy, which means it takes longer to absorb into the skin. If you want to include this in your night routine, as I do for example, I recommend applying the balm on the skin a few hours before going to sleep. This can be on your desired part of the body.
  • It takes at least a month and a half before the optimal result is visible.

My personal opinion and score
This is seriously the best balm I've ever tried and I'm not exaggerating. I've been using this product for a year now and I really swear by this balm. It is also one of the products that I recommend to almost everyone in my immediate environment. Every now and then I think: "Why have I never tried this product before? It's really great!"

 

I always use the product in the evening, before going to bed. So I go to bed with a slightly greasy layer on my face and the next morning my skin is super hydrated and nourished. Even when I wash my face or take a shower, the skin on my face doesn't dry out. I really like this product and I think this product will be in my routine for a long time to come. I hope this product will work just as well for you! My score for this product is a 9.5/10!
