Milani Cosmetics conceal + perfect 2-in-1 foundation + concealer
27-04-2022

Hi Cherries and welcome to my review of the Milani Cosmetics Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer. Also known as the Milani 2 in 1 Foundation (^.^)

You can find this foundation at the Douglas store (the Netherlands) and at various web shops. Keep in mind that many Milani Cosmetics products aren't (yet) available as it isn't that long available in the Netherlands. Perhaps more will be released in the near future.

Milani Cosmetics originates from America and is considered a high-end drugstore brand of cosmetics there. You can compare the prices with L'Oréal Paris, Maybelline New York and Max Factor at Kruidvat. So with discounts, the products are affordable for everyone.

This foundation comes in so many colors to choose from. A total of 45 colors are available! Each color has its own undertone. So you will easily find a color and tone that suits your skin. My choice is the color "00A Porcelain" which is made for light skin with a neutral pink undertone. I can actually handle a foundation with yellow or warm undertones with my skin, but I usually end up with pink.

Casing and texture
The product comes in a glass bottle with a pump and cap made of hard plastic. The case of this product is not special in my opinion as most foundations come in these types of cases these days. It keeps it professional and simple. Still, I have to admit that I can always appreciate a pump, so that I can measure the right amount. It doesn't matter how many foundations, BB creams or CC creams I try, but I still find a pump over a squeeze tube better in terms of application process.

The texture of the foundation is thick, but it spreads nicely on the skin. You can clearly see the thickness of the texture in the photos below on the right. You can also see how the color "00A Porcelain" looks in both the dark and light.

The product is described as (according to the website where I bought the product):
"Milani's 2-in-1 Concealer + Foundation is a creamy, water-resistant, full-coverage foundation that conceals instantly and lasts up to 12 hours. Perfect for concealing under-eye circles, blemishes and skin discoloration. The formula contains vitamin E to replenish the moisture content of the skin. Free from Parabens, Sulfate, Acetone, Lactose, Gluten, Ammonia, Phthalate and it contains no traces of nuts. This product also contains no oily ingredients or alcohol. So even suitable for sensitive skin".

Let's see how the foundation works on my skin and/or the promises match with what the product brings (^.^)

At the moment I'm a bit insecure about my skin, because as a woman you have a period every month where the impurities break out. I also have parties for the next few days. So this full coverage foundation should do its job!

I applied the foundation with the ZOEVA Silk Finish brush (102) Then I went over it with the EcoTools Bioblender to get rid of the brush strokes. I personally think this is the best way to apply foundation to my face. I find that a beautyblender alone absorbs too much product.

To finish my look for the day I did the following. I filled in my eyebrows with the Kimchi Chic Kimbrowly Eyebrow pencil in Ash Brown. This matches the natural color of my eyebrows. Now that my hair is lighter, I find it strange on myself when I make my eyebrows the same color. So that's why I stick to my natural color. Also think it looks better on me.

For my eye look I used the following products:
1. NUDESTIX Magnetic Luminous Eye Color in Spirit (review available on my blog). I applied the color over my eyelids and in the crease. Then blended it out.
2. Urban Decay Naked Heat palette (review available on my blog) and from that I took the color Ounce for under the eyebrows.

3. Urban Decay Naked Reloaded palette (review available on my blog) and from that I took the color Angel Fire for the inner corner to make the look stand out a bit more.
4. NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Liner Stick in Frosted Lilac for under the eyes. This is a very natural color. In combination with Angel Fire, it "pops" the eyes.
5. Due to the fact that I'm currently crying outside due to pollen and dry air, I often don't use mascara in the spring. So with my eyes I'm done.

To complete my look I did my lips with the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Pillow Talk (review available on my blog) and MAC Cosmetics Powerglass Plumping Lip Gloss in the color P-Out of your league for a glittery look. In connection with my review, I haven't applied blush or other products on my cheeks.

The Milani Cosmetics Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer doesn't provide full coverage, but rather a medium to high coverage that you can build up to full coverage. It gives a natural look and the result is dewy, making the foundation rather perfect for dry to normal skin.

Indeed, the product hides dark circles under the eyes, eliminating the need for an additional concealer. However, it doesn't hide impurities completely. You would need extra concealer for that (if you are insecure!) What I really liked at the beginning was how you could hide a large part of the redness in the face with a 1,5 pump. I barely noticed my redness and it didn't settle into my large pores.

After about 10 hours I did notice that some of the coverage had faded. Especially under my eyes and near my nose, but otherwise the product really stayed in place. I'm really impressed! (^.^)

My personal opinion and score
The Milani Cosmetics Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer is, in my opinion, the perfect foundation for anyone with dry to normal skin who suffers from impurities, dark circles under the eyes and indeed discolorations on the face. This well-covering foundation doesn't feel like a layer on the face and stays well in place. You don't actually have to use concealer, but it is advisable for large impurities. I don't recommend this foundation for people with oily skin, because the foundation has a dewy finish. My score for this product is a 9/10!
