NUDESTIX Magnetic Matte Eye Color

FYI: All photos in my review were taken a month ago. Unfortunately, last month I hardly had the time to work on several reviews because of private circumstances. I try to catch up as soon as possible (*＾3＾）

As I also mentioned in the Luminous version review, I had actually been looking at the NUDESTIX eyeshadows for a long time, but I really wanted to wait for the right time to buy, because the products are pricey. At the time, I didn't want to buy something out of curiosity that I didn't need.

The matte eyeshadow colors from NUDESTIX appeal less to me in contrast to the colors available with the Luminous version, but I was able to pick one shade. I chose the color "Terra" which is a terracotta brown. It reminds me a lot of the color Boundaries from the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette. I generally use the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded very little, but when I do use it I often go for the color Boundaries. However, I never take the Reloaded palette anywhere as it's not convenient, because the palette doesn't have an eyeshadow brush. In my normal bag, an eyeshadow brush has often broken in the middle. So I found it useful to buy the color in NUDESTIX form so that I can take it with me whenever I want to go for terracotta brown.

Casing, texture and color (Terra)
Each eyeshadow from NUDESTIX comes in a tin with mirror. Very compact! You can use the tin to take your own eyeshadow pencil everywhere you go. I like the mirror in the tin. For example, if you are on the train in the early morning, with your friend after a sleepover, or if you are a co-driver in the car and don't have a mirror in the car lid. The conclusion is that the mirror comes in handy.

If you buy more eyeshadow colors, you can fill the tin up to max. 5 colors if you want to take the sharpener with you. Otherwise you can easily take 6 colors with you everywhere!

Did I say a sharpener? Yes that's right! With every eyeshadow pencil you get an original NUDESTIX sharpener with a cap. You can even attach it to the pencil! Handy, huh? So you have a complete set for a price tag of (easily rounding to whole numbers) €24,-. It's pricey, but for a complete case and sharpener that you'd have to buy separately if it breaks, it's a great deal!

In the pictures on the right I have swatched my eyeshadow pencils. I kindly ask you to let yourself focus on the last swatch which is a bit remote. The top two swatches belong to the Luminous version.

In both photos you can see a difference of the Terra color in the light and dark. The texture of the Magnetic Matte Eye Color pencil is like a cream, but a thin cream texture. This makes sense, because it should be able to give a matte finish to your lids and the more matte a product, the drier the finish will be.

Applying this product is not that exciting. You draw the color over your eyelids, as it were, to how far you want to take it. With the matte version of the Magnetic Eye Color you have to work quickly, because it dries quickly and then it's very difficult to blend it out with your fingers or blending brush. So keep this in mind when you try it out! In any case, I recommend applying an eye primer to the eyelids before use.

My personal opinion and score
The NUDESTIX Magnetic Matte Eye Color seems to me to be the most suitable for anyone who suffers from oily eyelids or who do not easily suffer from dry eyelids. The product dries very quickly on the eyelids and can be drying. So I don't recommend this product to people who suffer from dry eyelids a lot.

Having to work quickly with this product is not a flaw to me, but what I do find a flaw in this product is that the product settles in the fine lines near the eye. It makes the fine lines stand out throughout the day. Now I'm lucky that I'm wearing glasses myself, so I can camouflage it. However, people who don't wear glasses and see in the mirror will not like it.

Just like the luminous version, the matte version of pencils is very suitable for anyone who is not fond of eyeshadow palettes, who likes to put together their own collection or who uses little makeup, but occasionally wants something for a special occasion. You buy the eyeshadow colors separately. So know that you pay €24,- per pencil with casing.

At NUDESTIX I find it a disadvantage that you cannot buy the pencils separately from the casing. So you pay unnecessarily a lot of money per pencil with a content of 2.8 grams. It would also be better from NUDESTIX if you can buy the pencils separately. Then you only pay for the product and not the casing.

Personally, I don't think the matte version of the Magnetic Eye Color is wrong for me, but it didn't blow me away either. I find this version to work a little less for myself than the luminous version, but perhaps this will work much better for you or someone else. Maybe it's also because I find this kind of matte finish too matte. Can't quite put my finger on this. Anyway.... I really like the color Terra. Comes across very naturally. You can make it an "everyday" eyeshadow color. If you like a natural brown, I would definitely recommend this color.
