Kiko Milano Smart Hydra Shot Eye Gel
22-11-2020
Hi Cherries and welcome to one of my Kiko Milano reviews! This is the last product I have yet to review from my most recent skincare routine. So here we go! (^_^)
The product I'm going to review today is called the "Smart Hydra Shot Eye Gel". According to Kiko Milano, this is a moisturizing gel against dark circles and bags under the eyes. It should have an instant fresh effect.
Now I don't have bags under my eyes, but I still have some dark circles. Previously they were much darker, but after prolonged use of this product it has become much better. I cannot judge about real bags under the eyes. So my apologies to the Cherries who suffer from thick bags under the eyes. I can't judge something I don't have. So I judge this product purely on what it does against dark under eye circles and hydration.
As you can see I have finally done my roots. Postponed it as long as possible, because I don't want to dye my hair at the last moment before Christmas. Prefer less than 1 cm of outgrowth than 2.5 cm which I had yesterday. In addition, I look very tired in these pictures from today. Truth is, I'm very tired. Have been doing a lot lately and yesterday didn't help.
What I mainly did yesterday was to gain basic information about the swadhisthana in the morning. How to open it better etc. I was always a believer in the chakras, but never did anything with it before, because I didn't had the chance. I honestly admit that I'm a spiritual person and have recently started to focus more on my spirituality. There are of course people who don't believe in it, but I do believe in it. So I'm making it all true for myself. It takes a lot of energy when you want to open a chakra. Especially a chakra based on emotions / feelings. So after a morning of working on the second chakra, I was already a bit tired. Then I dyed my hair and ended up watching Netflix. I told myself not to watch Christmas movies. Certainly not before December, but I couldn't resist and caught myself watching "A Princess For Christmas". On Netflix NL it's known as "Christmas at Castlebury Hall". I had never watched this one from the start. Only the ending. So I thought, "Well, why not?" XD I also ended up watching one of my series and now I regret not going to bed sooner…. So I woke up to Normani - Motivation on MTV.
Okay, motivation and on with this review, because that's what you come for! There is not much to say about this product, because there is not much known about this product, but I try to keep it as informative as possible for you.
Housing
The hydrating gel comes in a small, light blue 15ml tube. As you can see in the second photo, I used quite a bit. I'm almost on half of this tube, but the tube is actually completely full when you buy it! The screw cap is made of hard plastic. You can see the massage button through it. This one is also made of hard plastic and is light blue in color. At first I thought it was made of silicone, because I saw this product online before I bought this product in the store.
Unfortunately, I no longer have the box, but the box is white in color and has pink + blue stripes on the front. I can't remember what else was actually on it. Sorry! :X
Texture, fragrance and color
The texture of the "Smart Hydra Shot Eye Gel" is a light gel, but strangely enough it spreads a bit thicker. Try not to take too much of this, because it spreads nicely and well. I made this mistake the first time. I can't really describe the scent as it really is. It's not a typical gel scent. It has a slight odor, but is almost odorless. The color is off-white, but in gel form with a small hint of light blue. It's transparent when you spread it.
Tip! Always use your ring fingers when you apply and spread an eye cream or in this case gel etc. The ring fingers are the most delicate for the sensitive area.
Promises Kiko Milano
This product makes your look light up and shine. It fights against bags under the eyes, dark circles and dryness.
The product is special because:
- it contains hyaluronan for intense hydration and caffeine with stimulating properties;
- it has a fresh and light gel texture that is quickly absorbed by the skin;
- the handy applicator with round massage head to help spread the product and gently massage the eye area at the same time.
Truth
This product certainly contains hyaluronan, because the first thing you will notice is that the area under your eyes is hydrated by the gel. The texture is indeed a light gel texture as mentioned before. Also fresh. It feels pleasant on the skin and spreads well. It spreads nicely. You can use the massage button to massage the product in first, but this product is quickly absorbed by the skin. So you will have to work quickly. I personally don't like using the massage button. I prefer my ring fingers, but the massage button is certainly not an unnecessary luxury. I think this one is mainly made for the people who are more prone to puffiness.
My personal opinion and score
This product is suitable for all skin types. I especially recommend this product to those who are in no hurry to fight against dark circles or puffiness. Again, I don't have puffiness of my own. So I can't judge how fast it works, but I do suffer from dark circles. After prolonged use, the dark circles will disappear. After the third week I saw a big difference, but I also started with really dark circles. So for people with light dark circles it will stand out differently. This product is certainly very hydrating, which is what I actually bought it for.
The only downside to this product is that you cannot use it under make-up. It's hydrating, but a strong foundation can still adhere there and you cannot use this product as an eye primer. I was previously able to do this with my previous eye creams. This product is not recommended under make-up, but as a skincare product this product is ideal! My personal score for this product is an 8/10!
