Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette
10-01-2022
Hey Cherries and welcome to my review about the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette which many of you asked me to review. I also did a review about the reloaded palette from Urban Decay not so long ago. If you are also interested in that, then you know now that there is a review on my blog! (^.^)
The idea of the Naked Heat palette is that you can create different looks in one day with warm tones. This product is therefore the complete opposite of the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette (review about this palette also available on my blog!) which mainly has cool shades. If you are someone who is looking for warm shades or do you want to have a warm shade eyeshadow palette in addition to a cool shade eyeshadow palette? Then you are in the right place with this review! Let's take a look together at this old hype which is still active!
Urban Decay describes this product as follows:
"Naked warms up, illuminates with 12 BRAND NEW, can't-do without amber neutrals, including warm browns, burnt oranges and rich siennas. From a super-smooth russet matte and a shimmery copper to a deep, shiftly bronze, this palette has everything you need to create sultry daytime looks, intensely smoky nighttime looks and everything in between".
Casing
When you receive the product, the palette comes in a brown box, which is closed on both sides. On the front is the name of the palette and on the back you will find the description of this palette. Furthermore, it is also mentioned what is in the palette. You can loosen the sides with a sharp knife or scissors, so that the palette can slid out of the box.
When you slide the palette out of the box, you may fall in love with the color of this entire palette. Probably also on the entire casing. It's a warm brown shade! It immediately gives you a super warm feeling! Both the front and back are completely smooth, but the front has a 3D print. It reminds me of matches in a box. I think it's a nice casing!
When we open the Naked Heat palette, we indeed come across 12 warm eyeshadow colors. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my camera to focus properly on all 12 colors, so I had to shoot them separately. Hopefully it's clear to everyone as well. I tried to focus as best I could.
What strikes me immediately is that this palette has less shimmer colors. My previous palettes from Urban Decay had more shimmer colors than matte colors. So this is new to me with an Urban Decay palette. In the case of this palette, that's very smart, because with it you create those strong smoky looks. This can definitely become a must have to those who love matte eyeshadow colors or who like to create a smoky look. If you are someone who likes to use glitter or shimmer eyeshadow colors, unfortunately this will not be the palette for you.
Urban Decay provides a double-sided eyeshadow brush with the Naked Heat palette, which is specifically made for this palette. It's not a double-sided eyeshadow brush that's there for the show or to spice up the palette, but it's really a brush that you can use. Very good quality, because it should last a long time and even if you no longer have the palette. So if you don't have your own brushes or blending brushes, this really offers the solution!
The Naked Heat palette double-sided eyeshadow brush is actually a double-sided blending brush to create a smoky look in an easy way. There are two different endings that allow you to apply and blend eyeshadows.
In the photo on the left you see a blending end which is almost square and ends flat. This is actually the best way to blend into the crease, but you can also easily apply eyeshadow with this. For example under the eyes. I also really like this when I apply natural eyeshadow colors or a base.
The photo on the right shows a classic blending tip which was especially popular when eyeshadow blending started to become a hype. I personally still find these kind of round ends the best in blending brushes. When I use my blending brushes from ZOEVA, I tend to go to these types of blending brushes more often. Of course it's personal for everyone, but in this palette it is well made to apply eyeshadow better.
Colors
In the photos below I have swatched all colors on my arm (note! All photos on my blog are without a filter, unless stated otherwise). All the colors are well pigmented and very beautiful. Of course you can see this much better in real life than in a photo and it looks best on the eyelids. Very warm tones. I love it!
Ounce - A warm ivory with a pearly finish - Beautiful for the inner corner of the eye or under the eyebrows. Can also be used as a natural eyeshadow.
Chaser - A neutral beige with a matte finish - Ideal for a natural everyday look or as a base color for a smoky eye.
Sauced - A light peach brown with a matte finish
Low Blow - A warm light brown with a matte finish
Lumbre - A warm peach color with a golden layer. Has a shimmer finish - My favorite color from this palette (^.^)
He Devil - A burnt red with a matte finish
Dirty Talk - Copper red with a metallic finish
Scorched - A deep burnt rosé color. Has a hint of copper with a metallic finish.
Cayenne - A deep red/brown with a matte finish.
En Fuego - Burgundy with a matte finish.
Ashes - A deep brown with a matte finish
Ember - A combination of deep copper, brown and bronze with a shimmer finish - Can be compared to the Darkheart color from the Naked 3 palette in my opinion, but in Naked Heat form. - Ideal for finishing a strong smoky eye or evening look!
My look
PS Due to the fact that I started reviewing this early in the morning, I didn't go overboard with the colors.

How to create?
1. First a good base! The base is an eye primer.
I use the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original.
2. As a base color I used the color Chaser. I applied this over my eyelids and under the eye.
3. Then I mixed two different colors together, Sauced and Low Blow. I applied this over Chaser to get a deeper color. This color combination is also applied in the crease. Blend the crease until you are satisfied and you don't see a line.
4. Apply He Devil to the end and blend it there. Try to keep the color on the end if you're wearing glasses like me. This brings a more open look to your eyes behind the glasses. If you don't wear glasses, this can also be nicely blended into your crease.
5. Apply the color Lumbre to your eyelids. Don't let this one go to your deep end which you just created. It doesn't matter if it gets into your crease. You can still blend this nicely.
6. Time to finish the normal "every day" look. Use the color Ounce under the eyebrows and a little at the inner corner.
7. Use your favorite mascara over your lashes. I used the L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara here.
My personal opinion and score
The Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette has been worth the old hype in my opinion. It's actually still a hype! This is a palette that I can best recommend to people looking for warm tones that are well pigmented. Those who don't like cool tones or who prefer warm tones to make their eyes look more beautiful. It's important with this palette that people must love a matte finish, because almost all colors in this palette have a matte finish. In my view, this is definitely necessary for this palette, because with it you can create those strong looks. If you don't like warm tones or a matte finish, you'd rather skip this palette.
So are you more into shimmer, glitter and metallic? Take a look at my Naked3 and Reloaded palette review. The Reloaded is actually a combination of both cool tones and warm tones. The Naked3 especially has a lot of shimmer, metallic and cool tones. Perhaps one of those palettes appeals to you more.
Besides the colors of the Naked Heat Palette, I've actually become a big fan of the Naked Heat double-sided blending brush. Applying the eyeshadow was easy, blending was easy and everything was just pleasant to use! Everything about the application process went smoothly. Unfortunately, not all colors go together, but a large part of the colors do. So you can create plenty of looks with this palette. Only flaw I have found in this palette is that some colors can bring a fallout. So you have to use a "fan" brush to wipe it off.
I actually didn't think that this palette would appeal to me much, because I have always been used to cool shades. Also, I always tend to go for natural shades that don't stand out too much, but this palette has become an exception. I TOTALLY LOVE IT! I have now also started to look at warm tones differently and I actually think that warm tones suit me better than cool tones. So... A 9.5/10!
