FYI: This review was written some time before the released date, but it was never published before due to internet issues from the storm. In addition, the new skincare routine came into play, which put this review on hold.

Today I'm going to tell you about a sheet mask from Japan. It has 8 different variants, but in this review I do one, because otherwise it will be a super long blog post. This sheet mask is very popular in Japan and it's called the Utena Premium Puresa Golden Jelly Mask. In this review I will discuss the collagen variant with you.

 

The name of this product says it all, because it contains 33 grams of golden jelly serum that is necessary for optimal hydration of the face. In the original box there are 3 packages. Each sheet mask therefore comes in a separate package. A proof is the picture next to this story ^.^

 

The other 7 variants are: Hyaluronic Acid (the best-selling!), Royal Jelly, Pearl, Peach, Sakura, Rose and Lavender.

To spend the day better, I'm completely dressed in house style. Gray sweatpants, black t-shirt with long sleeves and to top it off I wear my new wool slippers.

 

Wool slippers are a huge hit nowadays. I decided to get them after it was recommended to me by some of my boyfriend his good lady friends and it's true what they said. I really haven't regretted it! It's comfortable, warm, soft and really ideal for when you get out of the shower, for example.

 

There are different types of these types of slippers, but I got them as flip-flops. Flip flops are actually my preference as slippers. I find it more comfortable. These are slippers from Hunkemöller. They come in the colors black, pink and gray ^.^

Packaging

As mentioned earlier, there will be 3 sheet masks with 1 box. Each sheet mask is packed separately in a package. The packaging is an exact copy of the box, making it easy to recognize. Especially if you own multiple variants of this mask.

 

As soon as you tear the packaging open, you will notice that the package is completely full of golden jelly serum. The mask is also completely saturated with the serum. Although this mask is a bit pricey compared to most drugstore masks from Japan, they are very generous in terms of the product! A box in Japan costs about €5,-. So €1.67 rounded per mask. You pay double the amount on international web shops. So I especially recommend buying this product on discounts or when you go on holiday in Japan.

In the first picture you see a whole bottom in the bowl with regard to golden jelly serum. This is the amount I was able to squeeze out of my mask. The serum contains a bit of a citrus scent, but also a small mix of flowers. It smells nice, fresh and is not disturbing.

 

When you take the mask out of the package, you can see that there is still a lot of golden jelly serum left. DO NOT THROW IT AWAY! You can use this over the mask as I did in the next series of photos. You can spread the rest over your neck and décolleté.

In my hand I have the last remains from my packaging. I spread this all over my neck, décolleté and mask. I used the most on the mask. With this mask I recommend to use a fleece hair band and if necessary to put the hair in a ponytail or bun. The serum is a bit sticky in the beginning, so the hair may "stuck" easily on the product.

 

This mask should remain on the face for 20 minutes. After removing the mask, massage the remaining serum all over the face, until it's largely absorbed. You can still put the mask for a moment on the neck, if you still experience dryness there.

After use, all three areas are optimally hydrated.

The result in 5 words: optimally moisturizing, soft and elastic!

 

My personal opinion and score

By using this product, I understand why this mask is very popular in Japan. It actually has everything you need and the effect lasts for a week. This is definitely a Japanese product that I would recommend to anyone with very dry to dry combination skin. In one word it's PERFECT!

In addition, there are 7 other variants available. So enough to choose from! A few flaws to this product is the price and the fact that some skin types can absorb this serum up to a certain amount. This product gets a 9/10 from me!
