Hello Kersjes and welcome to my review about THE FACE SHOP Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam! ^_^ Does the name sound familiar? Then you have already read my summer skincare routine for 2019! ^_^

 

THE FACE SHOP Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam comes in a beige tube with a dark brown cap (I might be a bit color blind, because for me it's black XD). The official logo of THE FACE SHOP can be found at the top left and below the name is written in Korean (Hangul), English and French. THE FACE SHOP is one of the few South Korean brands that can be found worldwide. So most South Korean brands only come with introductions in the Hangul. Although I have to say that most brands are slowly introducing English introductions and information to the products, because these brands have slowly become internationally known (through international web shops). On the back we find the instructions and promises in the same languages.

 

Personally I think this is a very nice tube. I like the color transition between beige and dark brown (which is black in my eyes, but ok XD). Also that a picture of a rice plant has been put on it makes it complete. I like it ^_^

The content of this tube is 150 ml and this product has cost me around €10,- , which is cheap for a South Korean cleansing foam. You usually pay for a cleansing foam from a famous South Korean brand around €15,- and sometimes the price range is between €15,- and €20,-.

Description of product and promises
"This 2 in 1 product has rice and bran as its main ingredients to naturally cleanse the skin. It cleanses the skin of makeup, impurities, excess sebum and dead skin cells. This product cleanses deep into the pores and helps to brighten up the face! In addition, this product leaves the face soft, smooth and nourishing". THE FACE SHOP makes us 8 promises about this product, but are these promises made true? I will come back to that later.

 

This product can be used to clean the face daily in both the morning and evening, but it can also be used as a makeup cleaner! In the pictures below I used this product in the morning of today. The photos are in order. What I point with my fingers are all places where dead skin cells can be found or excess sebum after a night's sleep. Unfortunately it's not clearly visible in the photos, because the lamp in the bathroom is strong by itself. That's why I pointed out the places. I also show in the photos how much you should take of this product and what it looks like when you mix it with water. The foam itself is rough, because it contains bran. These can also be felt when you clean the face. The bran helps to remove the dead skin cells ^_^ (Please don't mind my nails. I'm the kind of girl who lets it wear off, but I do want to paint my nails again ^^)

Texture and odor
The texture of this cleansing foam is like a soft cream, but also rough through the bran. The bran is good when you spread the cleansing foam. It doesn't feel rough when you wash the face with this cleansing foam. It feels very soft and the cleansing foam is easy to spread over the entire face. You can build up the foam by adding water a little at a time. I just can't really describe the smell of this product. It's not a familiar scent for me, but it's on the sweet side. It smells wonderful and the scent remains when you are washing the face! ^_^

Nail Polish: Sally Hansen - 263 Racing Rose (Changed it during the day)

 

Due to the fact that today it was 26 degrees Celsius, I didn't want to apply eye makeup. It melts quickly during the heat and especially when you are walking for a long time! I like to take long walks or to sit by the water. 9 out of 10x I am mainly concerned with catching pokemons XD Now some of you can already laugh, but I do Pokemon Go and I'm in team Mystic. Since blue and especially light blue are one of my favorite colors, it's no surprise that I switched teams. I used to be in team Instinct, but it didn't fit me anymore and most of my friends are blue ... So if you do Pokemon Go then I'm willing to become friends with you XD

 

In addition, it was actually redundant, because a cleansing foam is not friendly to the eyes. It should have been removed with a make-up cleansing wipes or eye make-up remover.

 

Result
The result as a make-up remover is fantastic. It could easily have taken everything with it. By wiping a few times, I saw that the foundation was already gone on one side of my face. The lip tint was also easy to remove and normally a lip tint doesn't go away easily when removing makeup. The photo on the right also shows that my face has changed into a refreshed image with a natural shine. Ready for bed !!! ^_^

 

Promises VS The Truth

  7. Gently leaves the face behind - TRUE
  8. Leave the face nourishing - NO CONCLUSION (Until now I have not been able to really see that it makes the face nourish. Although I sometimes noticed it, but not constantly. I will come back to this in a month!)

 

Personal opinion and score

This is probably one of the best cleansing foams I have ever tried in my life. It's kind to the skin as a normal cleanser, but also as a makeup remover the result is fantastic. Just like all cleansing foams, this cleansing foam is not suitable for removing the eye makeup. This is a fact cleansing foams have, because they are not friendly to our eyes and it can be very harmful in the long term. So make sure you have a separate eye makeup remover and/or makeup cleansing wipes to hand. Furthermore, this cleansing foam is soft, but because of the bran I don't recommend this product for men and women with sensitive skin, because when the foam disappears you feel the bran well and it can give an abrasive feeling. That's not nice. This product is suitable for men and women with dry to oily skin. My personal score for this product is a 9/10! Absolutely! ^ _ ^
