About Citra

Citra is a brand that is well-known in India, Thailand and Indonesia. If you ever go to Thailand or Indonesia, you will find this brand everywhere. It is often seen as a brand from Thailand, because there are many Thai packaging and the brand is promoted more in that country, but this is not 100% accurate. The brand is delivered by Unilever (The brands Dove and Vaseline are also part of Unilever).

Japanese wakame

It's clear that the ingredient mentioned above is the main ingredient of the serum. Japanese wakame seaweed is very well known in the Japanese cuisine. It's served as a side dish. This seaweed is also popular among Japanese women, because they like to eat it to make their skin (look) healthier. This seaweed is also known as a "beauty product" from the nature. It contains a lot of vitamins and a product that has this seaweed as an ingredient, does wonders for the skin (This is really not a joke, we'll come back to it later!).

Consistency/texture

The serum has an aqueous texture, but at the same time a gel like consistency (also seen on the tube and see the pictures below). This was strange to me at first, because I had never experienced anything like this with a body serum. So it took some time getting used to! The serum comes as a gel layer on the body, but when you smear it out, it turns into water. You have to work quickly, because this product absorbs quickly!

Working + experience

As indicated earlier, Japanese wakame ensures that the skin becomes healthier and also looks healthier. From my own experience I can conclude that this is also a fact! My skin looks very healthy and it helps to prevent redness/irritation. This serum does wonders for the skin!  

On the picture below you can see the difference between an upper leg that is smeared and an upper leg that is not smeared. Left upper leg is smeared and the right upper leg is not. I have drawn some circles so that the differences can be seen better. You also notice that the right thigh has more red spots.

In how many sizes is this serum available?

This serum is available in 3 sizes:     

• 70ml (travel format!)     
• 180ml     
• 320ml

How much does this serum cost?

That depends on how many ml you buy and at which online store. For the serums I advise eBay, because the prices for the Citra serums are much cheaper on there compared to Amazon. The travel format costs about €5,-. The normal size (180ml, which I have in possession) will easily cost €17,-. The maximum of 320ml costs about €23,-. As I mentioned earlier in a somewhat older Citra review, Citra products are not the cheapest you will encounter, but what I have tried so far has already been worth all of the money! This serum is perfect for women who want a healthy appearance and/or want to make the skin healthier! Ideal if you don't have a Japanese restaurant nearby or don't like to eat Japanese wakame seaweed.
