SABRINALACHERRY | Q&A 2024
Completed 1st of June 2024
Hey Cherries and new people who are reading my blog! Welcome to the very first Q&A of 2024. It's been a LONG time and I've received tons of questions! Spicy ones as well.
It was very difficult to make a choice between all the questions, because I received more than 150 questions and putting them in one Q&A takes a lot of time. It is also too much to read. Some questions were similar. So I really took the time to list all of your questions and finally made a layout with the best ones.
Enjoy reading and we will see each other soon! (^.^)
1) Hey Sabrina, it's been almost 2,5 years since you last posted. I'm sure you had your own reasons and I'm glad you're back, but I think the biggest question of this Q&A is: Where has Sabrina been from the end of 2022 'till mid 2024?
To be completely honest with all of you, my motivation was completely gone. Felt tired most of the time. During that period I was very focused on other aspects of my life which I really wanted to develop. I thought it was time to give myself a big time out so I could do other things as well. Things I haven't done before. I personally think it also had to do with the fact that I have been doing this for a really long time. The blog itself isn't that old, but I have been doing reviews and this kind of stuff since I was 15 years old. We are talking about 14 years of me doing this. If you're doing something like this for a long time without almost any pauses (also getting older and mature), it gets to you and you just want to have some really fun years without writing anything or much internet. I did kept in touch with my fans by replying to questions and mails, but I didn't had any motivation to come back on here. So I was just having some fun and good years with trying new things in my life! Still do, though!
2) As a fellow millenial I got to ask...Which 90s and 2000s trend do you miss?
From the 90s I do miss the REAL fluffy hairstyle. My mom always made sure I went out with fluffy hair. Loved it a lot as a kid. From the 2000s I do miss the old cellphones. They were all unique and people weren't a lot on the phone back then.
There was more real talk.
3) What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
Singing loudly in the car or at karaoke while I can't sing at all XD
4) Would you consider yourself as a risk-taker?
Yes.
5) Namasté, Sabrina! Our English is not great but hopefully you will understand us. We are Rani and Nysa from India. We always read about you liking Asian food and we both were like...Has she tried our kind of food, yet? Do you have some favorite Indian dishes?
Namasté, Rani and Nysa. Don't worry about your English. You both are doing great and I can understand you both (^.^) !
Yes, I have tried Indian food and I still like a good Indian dish today! My favorite Indian dishes, snacks and sweets are chicken tikka massala, rasgulla, samosa, dahl and kadai paneer.
6) I think I have the worst nostalgic question out of everyone! How did you do your makeup back in high school?
Oh, dear! This question made me laugh so hard, because nobody of the girls knew how to do makeup back then. I have an instant flashback to girls having orange circles around their faces. The foundations were so bad during my high school years. It wasn't even funny. It was serious cringe! Lots of mousse foundation as well!
I will make a post about me doing my high school makeup and probably purchase myself a red clown nose after seeing myself in the mirror. Nah - I'm joking you guys, but I will do a post about it, because this question has been coming by a lot and I think it will be a lot of fun to show you guys the girl I was in high school XD
7) Sabrina, time flies by fast! You're getting to your 30s. How do you see yourself in 10 years?
That is a very good question. This was so easy to answer when I was much younger. Uhm, actually I don't want to know. I used to think a lot about the future when I was much younger and I have done that less and less as I enjoy and appreciate the little things in life more. I'm really enjoying where I am now with the people I love. I find myself doing the best that I can and learning more as life continues 'cause I will be a completely different woman when I get to my 40s.
8) Do you like the woman that you are now?
Yes, absolutely! (^.^)
9) Do you still look the same as in the pictures of almost two or two and a half years ago? Considering the fact that you were away for quite some time. I'm curious what has changed about your appearance :)
No, I don't look the same. You can still recognize me but my appearance has changed a lot. My brown hair is completely gone. I'm a blondie for quite some years now with different glasses, different clothing style, tanner and my jewelry style has changed completely to gold. I was a silver girl before, but I don't like cool tones on me anymore and with a cherry on top...I got myself a piercing, but I'm not done yet. It's not a crazy piercing by the way (^.^)
10) What is your favorite poem?
Roses are red. Violets are blue. There ain't no one on earth who can tell me what to do! (^.^)
11) Imagine you're stranded on an island with one of your best friends and he or she says: "This little boat is the only transport to get us to and away from this island". What would you say?
That is a reassuring thought.
12) Imagine you are urban exploring. It's quiet, maybe a little too quiet. What's the first thing that comes to your mind?
I don't understand what people are always so concerned about (I hardly get scared about anything).
13) What's your favorite song by a Dutch band?
"Streets" by Kensington. I always come back to that song 'cause I love the vocals and rock sound.
14) All true Cherries know that you're listening to all kind of genres, but rock and metal is your home! How do your normal friends react when you take them into a huge moshpit or wall of death?
Well....It seriously happened not so long ago and uhm.... XD
15) Would you consider yourself a cultural person?
Yes.
16) What is your happy food place?
Any Mexican, Lebanese restaurant or La Cubanita!
17) What is your saving grace that you always carry with you in the bag?
Tea Tree Oil. It's always on my vanity in the house or in my bag. You never know when you have to use it.
18) Will you please do a "What's in the bag?" post?
Yes, I will. Received some requests for it. It sounds really fun to do that for you guys! (^.^)
Coming soon!
19) What is your favorite lyric in a song?
"A sudden blackout stops the show, but doesn't stop the way I am". It's a lyric from the song Ideal World by The Christians which happen to be my #1 favorite song ever.
20) Where do you feel most like yourself?
I always feel like myself wherever I am or go.
21) Spicy or mild food?
Spicy!
22) Ideal form of communication?
Face to face.
23) Which old online website game was your favorite as a kid?
Steppenwolf X creatures project (died so many times, but kept going through untill I got it XD). I liked the chapter in Puerto Rico the most. Because it didn't kill my characters that much compared to the previous chapters. It was more a game for teens back then, tho! Loved the combination of adventure and puzzle games back then.
24) In which game have you died a lot when you were a kid?
Tomb Raider!
25) Are you happy?
Yes, I am! (^.^)
26) How do you think about people or so called old friends who are jealous or talking bad about you? Trying to bring you down 'cause they are miserable? Making up stories?
To be very honest with all of you, I don't think about those people at all. I don't care for them. Never did and never will. Life is too short for thinking about those type of people.
27) What do you think about people who talk bad about other people or make up stories?
I don't pay any attention to it at all. If I really have to believe everything people say about someone else, then we are all super people like superman or wonder woman being everywhere and nowhere doing bad things instead of good in their eyes. While in reality we are watching TV at home or on holiday and chilling with no drama having zero contact with such people at all.
28) What is the craziest, but at the same time the coolest thing you have found out in recent years?
I found out that a huge pot hole in the road can turn off your check engine light. By the way, this was with my old car that I no longer have. It was a nice discovery, but please don't imitate me. It was a blessing in disguise XD
29) What is your favorite purchase so far this year?
My water-saving showerhead with minerals. No regrets at all! I highly suggest it to anyone who likes to save water or wants something better for the skin.
30) What did you really want to become as a child?
An artist or Egyptologist. There was no in between!
31) Are you a silver jewelry type girl or a gold jewelry type girl?
Gold
32) Wow, Sabrina! At the live show in which you participated with other bloggers you wore super beautiful gold plated or real gold jewelry. You also looked amazing, girl! My favorite was your initials ring and moon with star necklace. May I know where these are from?
Thank you so much for your compliment! (^.^)
All of my jewelry during that live was stainless steel gold plated except for the ring with my own initials. My initials ring is custom made by Monica Vinader UK and it's the "Gold Signature Wide Ring". The ring is 925 silver but is has a thick coat of gold over it. Mine happens to turn silver as I have this ring for quite some years. I don't know if they are still selling this ring. If they are not selling the ring anymore than maybe you can find an alternative.
The crescent moon and star necklace is a lot cheaper than my initials ring. I just typed "star and moon necklace" and got this one from Etsy. The necklace was around €10,-.
33) Hi Sabrina! This may be a silly question, but can you tell me where you get all your jewelry from? I really like your style and am inspired! Is it one kind of brand?
Hey, there! This is a question you can safely ask (^.^) Uhm, I don't know if you're specifically talking about the time when I wore a lot of silver or now being a gold jewelry type of girl. So I will tell both for the people that are interested.
When I was a silver jewelry type of girl, I wore a lot of jewelry made with natural stones. Labradorite and moonstone in particular. I got almost all of them at "Wiezewasjes" which is a Dutch jewelry shop with natural stones. They do ship worldwide! The other silver jewelry were random bought in nearby stores.
Now being a gold jewelry type of girl for a long time, I don't buy from one specific brand to be honest. My stainless steel gold plated jewelry are from everywhere and nowhere. I buy them in nearby shops, online and on holiday. I don't look at a specific brand anymore. I just buy the ones that are suiting me the most (^.^)
34) Sabrina, this is a serious question, but...
If it involves mountains, breakfast food, tea or hot chocolate, campfires, ghost stories and a forest, I'm in.
(PS This person hasn't finished his or her question. I'm just finishing it as good as I can XD)
35) Who were the original IT girls when you were a kid?
My Scene >>> The girls who get it, GET IT!
36) Which video really made you laugh the other day?
Well, I saw a video that said: "POV: the guy in 2012 who didn't text you back". It was a video with a man who really started to dress like a typical popular boy from 2012 and I couldn't stop laughing 'cause that was fashion at the time. The last thing I thought was: "Not those exposed ankles. Jail time for these jeans immediately" (he was wearing skinny jeans especially for men with those ribs XD)
37) Do you believe in being in someone his or her dreams?
Only if I was eating my favorite dishes in that dream or else it wasn't me.
38) Sabrina, what color is the sky?
Singing already: "Ay mi amor, Ay mi amor" ( I leave the rest to you all (^3^) )
39) What are you guilty of?
Unfinished game 1
Unfinished game 2
Unfinished game 3
Unfinished game 4
Unfinished game 5

40) Favorite nail shape(s)?
