SABRINALACHERRY | What's in my bag? | 2024
[Daily use - work - going out]
21-10-2024
Hey, Cherries and thank you all so much for stopping by again! In this blog post I will answer a frequently asked question for you. The title says it: "What's in my bag?" I'm going to let all of you see what's in my bag for daily use, during my work outside the blog and when I go out for an evening. I'll first show you the types of bags I'm usually spotted with and buy. I have been using the following types of bags for years and perhaps I will give you an idea or inspire you to buy or put together such a bag.
Before I continue, I want to make one thing very clear as this is a thing in both the blog and vlog world and it mainly concerns designer branded bags. I will not apologize for the fact that I own designer branded bags that are not affordable for some people or who would never want to spend that much money on a bag. Like any normal person, I work for my money and when it comes to daily bags, I prefer to buy good quality that will last more than 3 years. What I actually want to say is that every person is different in this and every person buys different things. One person thinks something is worth buying for the money and the other does not. So for the people who want to make some bloggers and vloggers feel guilty about the fact that they own designer branded bags, it is a wasted effort in my opinion, because everyone has his or her own things in a certain area.
Okay, now that we're clear, let's take a look at my favorite types of bags (^.^)
First let's have a good laugh, because of course the cherries can't be missed when I leave the house. I have to express the dramatic side of my identity somewhere. On the left side are four of my favorite types of bags ever! I have a fifth favorite that unfortunately didn't fit in the photo here, so you'll have to scroll further for that.
In the photo on the left you see two branded bags from GUESS, which is one of my favorite brands ever. I have quite a bit of GUESS at home. I really like to use the body mist and perfume. I have jewelry from the brand and I obviously get most of my bags there.
Just to be clear: I am not an ambassador for the brand and I do not promote the brand. I sincerely show you all what I use and walk with, with a lot of love! (^.^)
Then you will see one canvas bag which is always handy to have at home or for certain days outside the house and I once bought this online. I saw "Cherry" on it and immediately thought: "I just have to get this bag"!
Then lastly in this photo (it's a bit hard to see) I have a leopard print teddy bag or as I like to call it: "My bottomless pit bag", because just like the canvas bag, there are no compartments in this one. It's kind of like a Mary Poppins bag. Teddy bags were all the rage for a while and I couldn't resist buying one. Ultimately, I started using the bag more in the winter days, because I thought the bag suited the season. I also use this very often when I go to a spa. You can fit a lot in here! LOVE THIS ONE!
In the photos below you can take a look at my last favorite. It looks like it is a bright red bag due to light, but in reality the bag is more of a wine red / cherry red in color. Ideal to wear in any season, but especially beautiful for autumn and winter. You can get this kind of bag from any brand and no brand (the fake bags ^.^).
The brand I bought this bag from is called "Noirvere" and this is their well-known "Everyday BB bag", but with a zipper. The original BB bag (where it all started) has no zipper. It has a button and can be compared to an open bag, but they have had a zipper version of this bag made for everyone who prefers zippers in bags. Also available in different colors and also in a 'Distressed' look. Definitely worth it!
The "evening out / going out / party" bag
Let's start with a bag that generally doesn't need to hold much. It is a compact bag. Ideal for a night out or party. This is my GUESS Noelle Saffiano crossbody bag in black with gold stainless steel details. This is still available on the GUESS website and in stores (October 2024) for those interested.
I have a cherry keychain hanging on the bag, haha! As said before, I need to express the dramatic side of my identity somewhere and the key ring just suits me. It's cute! You can find these everywhere online.
There is honestly no point in photographing what I put in this bag, because it really only contains what is necessary. By the way, only the essentials for such an evening fit in here. Think of the mobile phone, wallet (or cards separately), car keys and/or house keys and your favorite lip gloss or lip combo. The lip gloss that I have in my bag 9 out of 10 times is called NYX Professional Makeup Butter gloss and then the color that I use during the day. One of my favorite lip combos ever for a good night out is MAC Lip Pencil Lipliner in the color "Whirl" with MAC Satin Lipstick in the color "Brave". I LOVE this lip combo because you can show up anywhere with it! I have been using this lip combo for years! Try it for yourself! (^.^)
The "Daily use and work" bag
The content of both using a bag for daily use and work does not differ much for me. That's why I tell both stories in one go. The only real difference is that when I go to work, the keys to the office are obviously in my bag. Otherwise I have a huge and annoying problem in the early morning XD
The bag that I use 9 out of 10 times on a daily basis is also from the GUESS brand and unfortunately it is no longer available, but I think you can find a good alternative. Unfortunately, I no longer remember which collection it came from. I only remember that it was really pricey at the time. By the way, I have had the bag for 4 years and it can still last for a few more years. It also features gold details that have not discolored after all these years and an original GUESS key ring. I received this with the bag itself and was not purchased separately.
What was purchased separately and clearly visible is my alternative mini travel bottle keychain for hot sauce. I used to always have the original Sriracha travel bottle
keychains, but I kept getting annoyed after a while with the green cap. The cap I have now seems to last much longer. It's a heart, but turned into a keychain it looks like a spade. I managed to find this very cheaply on AliExpress and it saves money and replacement on the original every time. You don't necessarily have to use it to take hot sauce with you everywhere. You can also easily remove the key ring to put it in the bag and put your favorite hand gel or cream in it, for example.
I have chosen to carry hot sauce with me at all times because it is truly a "Saving Grace" for me. I love a spicy kick. Spicy food anyway and often the sandwiches you buy while traveling are bland. This really just saves every dish that needs to be saved. Also very useful if, for example, you have a friend who cannot cook at all. No hard feelings, tho! (^3^)
PS This could be a good alternative to pepper spray, I just realized... Success is guaranteed! XD
I also call my everyday GUESS bag my mini suitcase, because it looks like a normal bag, but the bag has plenty of space and compartments. That's why I love this bag so much! Just take a look here. Then I'll show you what I'm carrying!
I have not photographed my car keys, house keys, wallet and phone in the photos here, because those are necessary things that everyone has in their bag. So I'll mainly show you what I always have in my bag in addition to these things and why.
1) Tangle Teezer Compact Mini
(This is not in the photo, because I still have to clean the brush, hahaha! That's why I posted a product photo of the same brush) Best hair brushes ever for my kind of hair type! My hair type is fine and tangles form quickly. I have been using the Tangle Teezer since high school and have never looked back at other brushes. Can be used on both dry and wet hair.
2) Scrunchie
Classic, timeless and available in different colors! I always have one or more Scrunchies in my bag, because you never know when you'll have a bad hair moment again. Now I happen to have a flashback to the time when I was asked by a man my age on the terrace what it was and then he asked: "Oh, can I look after it too, like Peter?" I thought, "WHAT?! Who?" Once home, I realized that he was trying to flirt and that there was a character like Peter Kavinsky (To All The Boys I've Loved Before) with this famous scene XD
3) Tea Tree Oil
I've mentioned it several times, but this is my Holy Grail. Also something I have been using since high school. You never know when you'll need it.
4) MP3 player
Born a millennial, always a millennial! Secretly, I'm still a fan of MP3 players that require wired earphones. I initially bought this for travel and vacation, but now I take it everywhere. I used to have the famous Sony MP3s and have been stuck with them. This is the Sony NW-E394 Walkman in blue. Still available (October 2024) and also in other colors.
5) Deodorant and perfume
I prefer natural deodorant and one of my favorite brands is Happy Earth. Made in the Netherlands. This is a deodorant spray without fragrance, because I prefer to smell the scent of my perfume. The perfume that I have been using more and more lately is "Babe Dreams" from Missguided. This is an affordable sweet perfume for every lady. I love perfumes that are sweet and another perfume that I often catch myself wearing is "Lolita Lempicka Sweet".
Normally I bring perfume in travel size or bottle that you have to fill by yourself, but my bottle unfortunately broke and I don't have a replacement yet. So that's why I have the full size in the bag for now.
6) Post-it notes + pen(s)
I'm the type of person who leaves positive or funny post-it notes at friends' houses to make them feel better on a bad day. Sometimes at house or after parties, because you never know what someone else is going through. I usually stick this on the bathroom mirror after I go to the toilet or somewhere I'm sure they'll be looking at it. This is a new block, because I'm through the old one.
7) Mini makeup bag
It is always useful to have a mini makeup bag with you, because sometimes I go out after work or have an appointment and then I want to make myself up. The products that are always included have been photographed here. I need to expand it a bit.
- Cerave Hydrating Cleanser in a travel accessory. - KIKO Milano Pure Clean Eyes & Lips in a travel accessory - COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++ in a travel accessory - MAC Lipliner in "Whirl" - MAC lipstick in Viva Glam II (Nowadays it has a different name) - E.L.F. Cosmetics Plumping Pen in "Bust A Mauve" (sometimes I recplace it with the color "Wicked Cherry") - Magnetic eyelashes with eyeliner
8) Instax Mini 9 Camera
I LOVE polaroid cameras! The latest version has now been released, but I am still loyal to the mini 9 and it is still doing very well after all these years. I especially think mini photos are super cute and you can stick or hang them anywhere. I'm not the social media type. I really hardly do anything with it. So most photos are given away, exchanged or stuck in photo albums (^.^)
9) The woman section of the bag
On the back of my GUESS bag there is a zipper with room to put other things in it. I call this my "women's compartment" because it contains spare menstrual stuff. I did not include that in the photo, because of course men can also read my blog and they absolutely do not need this, but I also keep my tissues and strips of paracetamol, ibuprofen, naproxen and Isla Moos here for the days when I feel like I'm a little sick.
10) Loose coins (?)
Okay, this wasn't planned at all, but apparently I forgot to put €2.10 back in my wallet, haha! But hey! It happens XD
The same thing I told and showed you all above is also always in my Noirvere Everyday BB bag. The difference is only in the layout, because my Noivere bag clearly has a completely different shape.
That's it for my "What's in my bag"! I hope you all enjoyed it and maybe I inspired one of you to have something else in the bag (^.^)
