Skin79 Super Plus Beblesh Balm SPF40 PA+++ PURPLE
07-12-2020

Take me down to the paradise city.
Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty.
Oh won't you please take me home!

Hi Cherries and welcome to my first impression review of the Skin79 Super Plus Beblesh Balm with SPF40 PA +++. Also known as the purple version of the famous Skin79 Super+ series. This is the fourth BB cream of the series that I am reviewing. I have also reviewed the HOT PINK, VIP GOLD and ORANGE versions. If you are interested in them, they are also available on my blog. HOT PINK was the first and this one is the most recent so far. I try to do reviews about the GREEN and GOLDEN SNAIL for you as soon as possible. However, these versions in connection with covid-19 are currently hardly or not available in Europe. In addition, it's currently difficult to obtain Korean products. So a time can match here, but as soon as I can get to the last two, reviews will definitely be made! This just for the Cherries who keep asking me for the whole series (^.^)

For those who aren't familiar with the SKIN79 Super Plus series, I will briefly tell you about it. The Super plus BB cream series from Skin79 is one of the most popular BB cream series from South Korea. At the same time, these were also one of the very first BB creams from South Korea to be sold internationally. Very popular because of the quality and colorful packaging! The series consists of the following BB creams (in order of release date): HOT PINK, VIP GOLD, ORANGE, PURPLE, GREEN, GOLDEN SNAIL, BRONZE (The latter is specially made for the beautiful tinted Cherries! ^ _ ^)

Casing, fragnance and color

The casing of this product certainly lives up to its name. It's a strong purple bottle with a gold plated dosing pump. Very nice for the people who are super fans of the color purple! I personally think purple is a beautiful color and the combination with gold....Hahaha.... I really think it's a beautiful casing! The disadvantage of this casing is that you cannot see and/or notice when the product is running out. You will only find out when no more BB cream comes out.

The texture of this product is slightly runny. A bit comparable to a light cream in my opinion. The smell of this BB cream is very strange. It doesn't smell like sunscreen, which I'm used to from the hot pink, VIP gold and orange, but in my opinion it smells like bubbles from a bubble blower? Hahahaha! Really weird, but a friend of mine happened to have bought this one recently to try it out and the first thing she asked me was: "Hey mup! Don't you think this smells like bubbles or something?" and I texted back, "Yeah, you're not alone!" XD

The color of the BB cream is #23 Natural Beige. A natural beige color with a normal undertone. Not yellow or pink. So it can be used by anyone who doesn't have to pay much attention to a BB cream with a pink or yellow tone. Incidentally, this BB cream comes in one shade. So it's a hit or a miss. #23 Natural Beige in South Korea is a combination of the European foundation colors "01" and "02".

I've mentioned this before in my BB cream reviews, but I keep repeating it for the new Cherries among us who aren't familiar with Asian BB creams. Asian foundations and BB creams come in one shade most of the time. With luck they are available in a maximum of four shades. In Asia most people all have a light skin tone and there it's very important to look as natural as possible. While here in Europe it's important to have something of a complexion. Especially on the face. This is therefore not the case in Asia. That's why a wide choice in foundation or BB cream colors is unnecessary in Asia. It's also true that there is a big difference between Asian and European make-up styles. No worries! For my beautiful, toned Cherries, SKIN79 has happily released a BRONZE version with the color #27 Dark beige. This is the only version that I'm not going to review as I have no tint of my own and I would have to use a very strong self tanner to get against that color.

Promises Skin79 Super Plus Beblesh Balm SPF40 PA +++ PURPLE
Skin79 Super + Beblesh Balm SPF40 PA +++ Purple is a BB cream with a three-function formula that makes the skin clear, smoother and protected. The balm retains moisture and hydrates with its fast absorbing hyaluronic acid and Celtic water. White sapphire powder reflects light to minimize wrinkles and blemishes. The SPF protects against the harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun and strengthens the natural barrier function of the skin to an even complexion with restored brightness. The main purpose of this cream is not only decent coverage, but also to provide the skin with maximum hydration. Suitable for all skin types.

Okay! Let's see what this product really does. In the first series of photos, I'm not wearing this product on my face. In the second series of photos, yes. Finally a third series with my entire make-up routine.

The coverage of this BB cream is low to medium and it can be built up to medium coverage. You have a low coverage with one layer of BB cream. With two layers you have a medium coverage. For natural redness, coverage is certainly enough! The product doesn't settle in the pores or stick on dry spots, because this BB cream is very hydrating of itself. It gives a real dewy finish with a natural glow.

Normally I never put powder on during a first impression review of a BB cream, because I always first want to see how long the product lasts without powder, but this time I applied powder on my T-zone. I haven't applied any powder on the cheeks, so that we can still see how long it lasts without powder.

PS Later in the day I removed the eyeliner as I thought it looked too strong with my entire outfit. It clashed a bit in my opinion. So I ended up going with the same eyeshadow shades.

* 10 hours later *

Overall, it has fairly persisted on the cheeks. It didn't come off completely, but you can see that my bronzer (which I mainly use for natural contouring) has largely melted away by the cream. The natural redness kind of shows through. The T-zone, on the other hand, looks exactly like it did in the beginning. The medium coverage is still there. It does start to slowly melt after 7 hours. One thing I especially learned with this BB cream is that powder is a must have over this product, otherwise it will not last for a long time! The longevity without powder can be a disappointment for many, but with powder it certainly lasts up to a maximum of 11 hours!

My personal opinion and score
This BB cream certainly delivers on its promises in terms of the amount of hydration and the clear, smooth finish. It gives a natural and beautiful glow to the face. However, sufficient coverage is overstated. It gives enough coverage when you build it up with two layers, but one layer of BB cream doesn't get you further than low coverage. By the way, when you build it up, it's not that you actually feel this on the face. This BB cream feels really light on the skin. So if you go for the medium coverage, it doesn't feel like you have a layer on the face. Not suitable for all skin types in my opinion, but certainly suitable for dry to combination skin. The reason why I don't recommend this product for people with an oily skin type is because of the amount of hydration and glow (finish!). This BB cream is very hydrating!

When I compare this BB cream with the previous BB creams (GREEN and GOLDEN SNAIL versions not counted!), This BB cream has the least longevity. Again.... It really takes powder to make this product last longer on the face. Otherwise it goes fast after 7 hours! If you only need it for 7 hours or less, this BB cream is ideal and you don't actually need a powder.

As for the promises for the anti-wrinkle and whitening are things I can only see in the longer term. So I can't judge this now. I'll get back to this in a month or two. So if you are interested in this, I recommend waiting that period.

My personal score at the moment (without judging whitening and anti-wrinkle effects) is an 8/10!
