Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette
20-12-2021
Hey Cherries! It's been a while, but here I am with a review on the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette, which most of you have been asking me to review! There are also many who have asked me to review the Naked Heat Palette. So I bought both this and the Naked Heat Palette. I'm trying to review the Naked Heat Palette as soon as possible, but I don't think it will be until early 2022 as I'm currently extremely busy preparing for the holidays and still have work to do. Anyway...It's coming ASAP!!! (^.^)
The idea of the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette is that it's a combination between the original Naked palette and the Naked2 palette, but with a few new colors to keep the palette in the theme. Urban Decay tells us about the palette below: "Stuck on a desert island and can only take one palette with you? This would be ours - the possibilities are endless with this 12-pan eyeshadow palette packed with universal neutrals. Rethink neutral with eyeshadows which is designed to flatter every eye shape, eye color, skin tone, age and gender. From silky mattes and metallics to iridescent micro shimmers, each shade is created with our signature Naked formula for a velvety texture, rich color payoff and extreme blendability. Parabens free, Sulfate free, Phthalate free and free of Animal testing".
Below you can take a look at the original packaging of this palette. All photos can be enlarged. I tried to keep the photos as sharp as possible, but unfortunately I couldn't with the colors. In the photos where you see the swatches of the eyeshadow colors, it becomes much clearer and I tell you how the colors turn out anyway.
The design of the Naked Reloaded Palette tries to transport you to a desert island with big flowers, but brings nostalgia to anyone who has ever owned or held the original Naked Palette. I've never owned it myself, but had my hands on it at a store in the past and I really like that Urban Decay kept this design, but upgraded it! It opens the same way as the original Naked Palette! The top feels super soft and it's made of fabric (^.^)
When we open the palette, we indeed see twelve different colors. I mainly see a presence of neutrals, but there are also some browns present in this palette. In addition, Urban Decay has decided to give more product to the colors that they think will be used the most. To be honest, I find that I also use these colors the most when I use the Reloaded palette.
Furthermore, this palette is equipped with a wide mirror (in the photo below still with foil) that sits nicely in a frame of fabric. This is the only Urban Decay Naked palette (not counting mini versions) that doesn't include a double-sided brush, but this makes the palette cheaper than other Urban Decay Naked palettes. Very unfortunate for the people who like to use these types of brushes in a palette. So you must be in possession of your own brushes.
Colors
- Bribe - A warm matte ivory - Can be used under the eyebrows, inner corner of the eye or as a base color.
- Barely Baked - A metallic soft golden color - Nice for the inner corner to put some emphasis on the eyes or on the eyelid.
- Angel Fire - Hard to describe. In my eyes a kind of rose gold, but very pale with rose gold glitter. It belongs to the micro-shimmer colors of the palette. I rather use it for the inner corner when trying to create a natural look.
- Retro - A striking matte peach color - Beautiful on the lids and in the crease.
- Reputation - Definitely a deep rose gold color with a slight hint of copper. Belongs to the micro-shimmer colors of the palette.
- Burn - A mix of copper and burgundy - Belongs to the metallic colors of the palette.
- End Game - Matte chocolate brown
- Dreamweaver - A cool toned brown with a hint of sparkle
- Distilled - Bronze color - Belongs to the metallic colors of the palette.
- Bucked - A warm matte light brown - Can be used with any look! - Is also one of my favorite colors from this palette!
- Boundaries - A warm terracotta matte color - Very nice with brown looks
- Blur - A neutral beige matte color - Can be used as a base color or to set up a natural look.
My look:
PS I tried to bring in most of the colors in the look below, but was able to use a total of 7 colors (^.^)
1. Before I start using eyeshadow, I think it is important to establish a good base. I always start with an eye primer and the eye primer I use also happens to be from Urban Decay. I own two of them. As you can see both are used with lots of love. Since I've been using Eden a lot lately, I chose Original this time. I apply this on my eyelids and then I spread it with my fingers up to my eyebrows.
2. Take a classic eyeshadow brush for the first color. I use the ZOEVA Luxe Classic Shader (232). For a base shade all over my lids and a little in the crease, I use the shade Blur.
3. With the same brush I continue with the color Boundaries. I apply this at the end of my eye for a slightly warmer look. I want to make it go with the blush I'm using. I then blended the color all the way to the middle crease with the ZOEVA Luxe Soft Crease (221) brush.
4. Now to make the look stronger, I use the color Bucked all over my lids. It's important that you don't apply this over Boundaries. Try to keep it on the eyelids only.
5. Take your blending brush again and take some of the color Endgame with it. Use this only in the end and blend it only in the end. The color Boundaries should remain visible in the middle of the crease (if you want my look exactly).
6. With the same blending brush take the color Distilled. Also use this on the end over the color Endgame, to give it more depth.
7. Use Barely Baked in the inner corner/beginning of the eye.
8. For a "touch up" you can add some Boundaries under the eye to give off a warmer look. Then blend this out with a smaller blending brush. I use the ZOEVA Luxe Petit Crease (231) brush.
9. Finally, I take the color Bribe under the eyebrows to complete the look. Now my look is complete (^.^)
My personal opinion and score
I recommend the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded palette to anyone who is looking for a palette with both cool-toned and warm-toned neutral eyeshadows. Who want a good mix of both matte and metallic colors. A bit of the best of both worlds (^.^)
The colors are very beautiful in my opinion! They come out nicer on the lids than if you swatch it on your arm. On the arm they appear quite powdery and some appear chalky, but on the lids this is not the case at all. This may also have to do with the type of brushes you use. The only thing I do have with this palette is that some of the colors are similar, so there isn't really much variation. You can only create certain looks with this palette, which I think is a shame. Not all colors go together unfortunately.
My personal score for this product is an 8/10!
