Viseart Petit Fours Pigment Palette (Pistache + Lavande)
06-10-2022

FYI: All photos in my review were taken during the first use. However, I have been using these palettes for over three months now and have seen enough to do a review ^^

Hey Cherries and welcome to my review of the Viseart Petit Fours Pigment Palette in the Pistache and Lavande versions (^.^)

Viseart Paris is a professional makeup brand from Paris, France and is particularly known for its intensely pigmented eyeshadow palettes. In addition to the large palettes that are very popular, Viseart also stocks small palettes, including the "Petit Fours".

Viseart's eyeshadow palettes are very popular among makeup artists worldwide. Why? Viseart is a vision for natural products, innovative techniques and high quality. These features make this brand indispensable in the entertainment industry. The small editions in palettes ensure ultimate precision and perfection.

The "Petit Fours" collection from Viseart has the following eyeshadow palettes available:

  • Lapis - A mix of strong shimmer blue with brown and matt off white.
  • Framboise - A mix of warm pink tones.
  • Chocolat - A mix of warm brown tones, but not too dark. Sits more in the direction of autumn brown.
  • Lavande - A mix of strong matt purple tones and a shimmer beige with a purple/silver undertone.
  • Garnet - A festive mix of shimmer colors in copper, burgundy and beige with a light matte color as a base.
  • Pistache - A mix between nude, terracotta and pistachio green. Contains two shimmer colors and two matte colors.
  • Peche - A blend of warm peach tones. Also features two shimmer colors and two matte colors.
  • Peridot - A mix between dark green tones and brown. Contains three shimmer colors and a matte color.
  • Praline - A dark version of the "Chocolat" palette. Also a mix of warm brown tones.
  • Bullion - Another festive mix. Contains black, gold, bronze and rose gold.
  • Lilas - A mix of light purple tones. Incredibly natural, of course. Contains two matte colors and two shimmer colors.
  • Pastille - A mix of warm brown and a strong blue. Contains three matte colors and a shimmer color.
  • Own creation - Viseart offers the possibility to compose your own "Petit Fours" by buying the case and eyeshadow separately. So if you can't make a choice or the above do not appeal to you at all, this is the perfect solution! So make your own palette! Please note that this will be slightly more expensive (^.^)

Casing Pistache and Lavande
The name gives it away, but the case of the "Petit Fours" palettes is small, because it only has four eyeshadow colors available. All these palettes have a magnetic closure and you can easily open the palettes again by pulling the ribbon on the back. The size and closure make the palettes ideal to take anywhere.

Each palette of the "Petit Fours" collection looks different, as it focuses on its own theme. Here you can clearly see the themes pistachio green and purple in the picture. The Viseart logo is featured on both the front and back.

What I find incredibly cute about the casing is not only the small size and ribbon, but the macarons that are depicted. The print of the macarons gives me a French feeling and whenever I see it, I am reminded of the beautiful places in France. It just takes me to a totally different country without being there.

When I open both palettes, the theme comes into view. The eyeshadow has a protective layer of plastic over it that you can remove. If you look closely you will see slits on both the top and bottom. When you've ran out of one of the eyeshadows, you can replace the old one with the new one. Very handy!

With Pistache I find two matte colors. These are called "Muscade" (first color) and "Pistache" (last color). Color two and three are shimmer colors called "Maté" and "Menthe".

With Lavande I find three matte colors. These are called "Orris" (first color), "Dianthus" (second color) and "Lavande" (last color). The third color is a shimmer color called "Lys".

I would like to go through the colors one by one with you, so that you know what to expect if you want to go for my choice (^.^)

Muscade – Described as a nutmeg brown, but I think it's more of a terracotta color with a matte finish.

Maté – A green champagne with a glossy finish. It looks like beige at first, but you will notice the green undertone as you work out the color. I think this is a really beautiful color. I also use the color from this palette the most.

Menthe – A sage color with a glossy finish. Unfortunately, the color does not come across well in the photo, but it is an intense color which is more green in reality. Also gorgeous!

Pistache – A bright green color with a matte finish. Really gives me the 80s vibes!

Orris - A pale iris color with a matte finish. This is actually the most neutral color from this palette. You can combine this great with the other colors or use it as an everyday color.

Dianthus- A soft purple with a matte finish. Very nice with outfits that contain lilac, purple and gray. Also beautiful when you only wear it with black. This is the purple color I usually go for when I use this palette.

Lys – An icy lily color with a glossy finish. This color can be wonderfully combined with all the colors in this palette.

Lavande – A bright lavender with a matte finish. Whenever I find I need a more dramatic look on purple, this is the color I go to.

Pros and Cons Pistache

Pros:

  • Different eyeshadow colors to choose from. If you don't feel like going green, you can also go for something else.
  • Intensely pigmented
  • High quality eyeshadow
  • Eyeshadow can be replaced
  • Palette matches the theme
  • Viseart is vegan

Cons:

  • Palette is pricey. Available in the Netherlands for about €30,-
  • Shimmer colors can give a fallout.
  • Unfortunately, not all colors go well with each other. So creating a look with all four colors is tricky, because the Pistachio color is a soft green and the other colors are darker. Unlike Lavande, you can't create many different looks with just these four colors.
  • Casing could be made more sturdy. It is made of cardboard.

Pros and Cons Lavande

Pros:

  • All eyeshadow colors in this palette can be combined well with each other. Literally all the colors go perfectly together and you can even create a dramatic look with all four colors.
  • Intensely pigmented
  • High quality eyeshadow
  • Eyeshadow can be replaced
  • Palette matches the theme
  • Viseart is vegan

Cons:

  • Palette is pricey. Available in the Netherlands for about €30,-
  • Shimmer color can give a fallout.
  • Casing could be made more sturdy. It is made of cardboard.

My personal opinion and score
I recommend the Viseart Petit Fours Pigment Palette to anyone who isn't into big or long eyeshadow palettes, because I've had a lot of big eyeshadow palettes in my life to date and although I don't regret it at all, it does take up a lot of space. Whether in a normal bag or your makeup bag. These small palettes are convenient to take with you because of their size and they all have their own theme. So you can mainly go for the colors that you use or you put together a palette yourself. Also great for anyone who just wants to go for a specific look and don't use a lot of eyeshadow colors in general.

I bought the above "Petit Fours" because I previously didn't own any eyeshadow colors that went with my green or purple outfits. It started to bother me at some point, because I often alternate between no eye makeup, but lipstick and no lipstick, but eye shadow. So whenever I felt like making up my eyes, I didn't have great colors for my outfits at all. After purchasing these, I don't really want to go back, because now it's complete (^.^)

Viseart's eyeshadows are clearly high quality and intensely pigmented. It also doesn't surprise me that Viseart eyeshadow is wildly popular in the entertainment industry. The only thing that strikes me is that the eyeshadow is delicate despite the quality. It has kind of a "cream" texture and if I brush over it I'm always afraid I'll break the eyeshadow, but maybe I'm just being rough with my strength, hahahaha!

My personal score is based on the eyeshadow quality. I give the Lavande version a score of 9.5/10! It is a very good palette and I think I will be replenishing it a lot in the future. I also give the Pistache version a score of 9.5/10! It has good eyeshadow, but as I mentioned before, not all colors go well with each other. So I think if I'm going to replenish this one in the future, I'm more likely to add dark green eyeshadow colors to make it more balanced.
