Clinique Facial Soap Mild
22-11-2020
Hi Cherries! I'm so sorry I didn't come up with this review sooner! I dropped the bottle some time ago, causing my pump cap to fly off. So I tried very hard to make it, which I did. However, there is still a difference in the space. So hence a photo on the right from my most recent skincare routine. I can finally use the product again (^_^)
FYI: This review was published along with the Kiko Milano Smart Hydra Shot Eye Gel, of which Kiko's review was actually written on November 22, 2020. Clinique was written a little earlier, but unfortunately didn't have the time to publish it earlier.
In this review I'm going to talk about the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild. This is a mild soap specially formulated for the face to use in the morning and evening. This is not a makeup remover! The intention is that you can clean your face normally.
Texture, fragrance and color
The texture, scent and color of this soap is very similar to normal hand soap. There is nothing special about this. In contact with water you get a normal amount of foam that you can wash the face with. It's important to know that this is real soap and is not intended for the eyes. So wash your eyes well with water before using this product on the face.
The Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild comes in three different types:
1. Type 1 -> Dry / sensitive skin
2. Type 2 -> Dry / combination skin (my choice)
3. Type 3 + 4 -> Oily / combination skin
All of these types are equally effective, but formulated for the skin type you have. My skin type is dry, combination skin. So I chosed type 2. If you have a different skin type than me, choose the type of soap you need! It's not good for your skin when you choose what's not meant for your skin.
Ingredients type 2
WaterAquaEau , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Sodium Chloride , Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine , Lauramidopropyl Betaine , Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate , Tea-Cocoyl Glutamate , Di-Ppg-2 Myreth-10 Adipate , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice , Peg-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate , Sucrose , Sodium Hyaluronate , Cetyl Triethylmonium Dimethicone Peg-8 Succinate , Butylene Glycol , Hexylene Glycol , Polyquaternium-7 , Laureth-2 , Caprylyl Glycol , Sodium Sulfate , Tocopheryl Acetate , Edta , Disodium Edta , Phenoxyethanol
Clinique's promises for this product are (speaking of type 2): “The Clinique Liquid Facial soap is mild and suitable for dry to combination skin. This liquid Facial Soap in a handy dosing bottle cleans while maintaining the right balance between lipids and moisture skin is preserved. Leaves the face perfectly clean, soft and hydrated ".
My personal experience with this product incl. Result
I have a good experience with this product. It keeps its promises. Indeed, my face feels perfectly clean, soft and hydrated after use. Not at all drying on the face. However, it's a bit drying on the hands. I don't know if this will be the case with the other types, but this is what I experience after using this product. So after using this product I always apply a hand cream. My hand cream is the regular hand cream from the Vaseline brand. I personally like that the best. A somewhat more expensive alternative that I sometimes use is the Rituals - The Ritual of Ayurveda hand balm.
Furthermore, this product is very ideal. The ease of use is very easy due to the pump bottle. Ideal for the dosage! You can open or close the pump. Turning the pump backwards means locked. Turning the pump to the side means open, but I've broken mine by now. So for me it's a different story, hahahaha! Unfortunately not available in travel format, but only in 200ml or 400ml. So you should put together your own pump bottle for traveling.
As indicated at the beginning of my review, this product is actually not intended to cleanse makeup, but this is possible for face makeup. Sometimes I have those lazy days where I don't want to go through my skincare routine or want to get into the shower quickly. Then I take a whole pump (sometimes 2 if necessary) and use it to take off my face makeup. Not my eye makeup, because again... This is soap! So know that it's possible, but it's not worth using this alone to cleanse face makeup. You need half a pump for a normal cleaning of the face.
My personal score for this product is 9/10!
