Hey Cherries and welcome to my review of the MISSHA Magic Cushion Cover Lasting with SPF50+ PA+++. This product is one of the best-selling cushions worldwide and a very popular product from South Korea. Also has been on the market for a long time, but it was previously known as the "MISSHA M Cushion Foundation in matt". MISSHA hasn't only changed the name of the product and the casing, but also improved the formula. This is the upgraded/improved version of the very well known cushion foundation.

I tried the old version in the past when I was a teenager, but I can't really remember what I thought of it. It looked different back then and it had a silver border with a small M in the middle. It's been too long for me! So this will actually be a first impression review of the cushion foundation (^.^)

Casing, texture and fragrance
The casing of this cushion is very simple. Probably not visible in the first photo, but the top of the cushion has a matte, old pink color and the brand is mentioned on it with golden letters. The bottom of the cushion is white and on the back you will find the name of the product with the number of the color. Furthermore, this cushion has a button opening. You just have to press the button to open the cushion. I'm a huge fan of button openings for cushions, because I like to take it with me in the bag. Also, this has always assured me that it won't open just like that.

When you open the cushion for the first time, you will see that everything is covered properly. There is foil over the mirror to protect the mirror from dust and dirt. You can easily pull this off. When you put the sponge aside or put it around your fingers, you can open the lid of the foundation. Always make sure that you close the lid properly after applying the foundation. Otherwise, the foundation can dry out and the product is no longer reusable. The smell of this product reminds me of a highlighter? Hahahaha...maybe because of the plastic XD

Important info for newcomers to cushions:

I'll be happy to explain you (^.^) You've probably noticed that cushions are made a lot in South Korea Also that almost all South Korean cosmetic brands have cushion foundation / BB cream. South Korea actually started with the whole cushion foundation / BB cream hype. Despite the fact that cushions aren't that popular in e.g. European cosmetics brands, they are handy to have and there are some brands that have adopted the style. Two well-known cushion foundations from Europe are those from YSL and Dior. Unfortunately High-End cosmetics brands that not everyone can afford , but luckily in South Korea or webshops with South Korean brands, you will find many drugstore brands with good quality cushions. This one from MISSHA is a good example and very popular!

What is the use of a cushion and why is it so popular? The advantage of a cushion foundation / BB cream is that you can easily take liquid makeup with you without leaving any mess. Also that with little product on the sponge (1x to 2x press is more than enough) you can do the entire face with medium to high coverage. That's why most cushions that you will encounter have a content of 15g (the max. I have encountered so far is 20g). It's actually not designed to be used as an "every day" product. It's more of a "quick in between" and "when you're really in a hurry and need something on your face quickly" product. However, I do notice that cushions are getting better and better formulated, allowing you to use it as a normal every day foundation / BB cream and I have to say that most cushions I have tried in my life (but unfortunately before my blog time, someday I will come back to these cushions! XD) could really go on for a whole day. Of course you don't last as long with cushions than a tube / bottle filled with foundation or BB cream ".

Promises and description
The following is written about this product: "MISSHA Magic Cushion Cover Lasting SPF50+ PA+++ contains a magical fit powder that covers impurities and imperfections with full coverage, ensuring a flawless complexion on the face. Full coverage is long-lasting thanks to our special formula. Furthermore, this formula is provided with extracts from different vegetables. These extracts provide a moisturizing / dewy finish with a light feeling on the face. The product won't feel heavy".

Let's see what it does. In the first set of photos, I don't have any product on my face. On the second set of photos I do and I finished my makeup. The last two pictures were taken after a duration of 12 hours. So I was able to keep the product on my face for a total of 12 hours. Photos can be enlarged by clicking on them!

My opinion on the promises
This cushion foundation has clearly given me a moisturizing / dewy finish on the face and it makes my face not only glow, but look healthy. The glow and coverage has been able to last for 12 hours which I actually didn't expect at all. So that's definitely a good sign! I agree that the foundation feels light on the face. You don't really feel it, but you know it's there. The only promise this foundation cannot deliver is full coverage. It is unfortunately too strong to say about this product. It does hide a great deal of facial redness, but not all of the imperfections, such as dark circles under the eyes. You will need a concealer for that, but in general I will express the coverage as medium to high. Good enough for parties, important occasions or whenever you need this kind of coverage!

My personal opinion and score
The MISSHA Magic Cushion Cover Lasting SPF50+ PA+++ is a holy grail for your makeup bag or regular bag. It is indeed magic XD Also affordable for everyone! I can't express it any other way and after using this product. I definitely understand why the foundation cushion has made it super long in not only the South Korean cosmetics market but also worldwide! This cushion is very good in many ways, as written above and I'm really impressed with this product! My personal score for this product is a 9.5/10!
