In the photos on the right, you can see two different cushions from the South Korean brand TIRTIR. TIRTIR quickly became wildly popular in the cosmetics market with the red cushion known for its top coverage. It is still a huge hype, and the internet is absolutely full of it. So, I also want to discover what makes this cushion so great. Today, I am going to review the TIRTIR Mask Fit Red Cushion with SPF40 PA++ for you.
Casing
The casing of the TIRTIR Mask Fit Red Cushion (also known as the original cushion that started it all) is a chic, red egg-shaped compact. The glossy red reminds me a bit of a 1950s red. Very classic, and it is the kind of red that goes with everything. Personally, I find the combination of red and black very beautiful!
The compact features a button that allows you to lift the lid. When you lift the lid, we see an oval-shaped mirror covered with foil. The foil can, of course, be removed. Additionally, we see a sponge puff for applying the product and a sealing lid to properly cover the foundation so that it doesn't dry out.
The content of this product is 18 grams, which is slightly more than the standard content of a BB cushion or foundation cushion. Normally, a cushion contains 15 grams, but this one contains slightly more.
Unfortunately, this is not a cushion foundation with a refill. Just like the silver cushion I reviewed earlier, I tried pressing the back to see if it would come out, but unfortunately, it didn't. So, you will have to continuously purchase a new compact case. However, what I did notice in the store where I bought the cushion is that travel-size cushions were also available. So, you can buy a smaller quantity for traveling or if you aren't sure if this is right for you. Unfortunately, I noticed that just a little too late, after I had paid, otherwise I would have done so, but at least know that you can buy a travel size of this cushion as well.
Available colors
Unlike many South Korean cosmetic brands, TIRTIR actually offers a wide range of colors. So, you have foundation shades from light to medium and from medium to dark. There is a lot of choice among the foundation colors. Very good for an international breakthrough! I personally bought this product in 17C Porcelain, which belongs to the light shades. This comes closest to my own skin tone when I don't have a summer tan. You will notice in this post that the foundation is currently a bit too light for me because I still have my summer tan, but it is ideal for my late summer and winter days, when my tan has faded.
Scent
I can compare the scent of the foundation to many cushion foundation scents from the South Korean cosmetics market. Occasionally, I get the impression that they simply use one scent for almost all cushions, or something similar. It is lightly floral. I smell a combination of roses and hibiscus (?). I am 100% sure that there must be some rose in this, because it gives off a rosy scent. It is a pleasant scent.
Promises and Performance

Okay, let's get straight to the point, ladies and gentlemen... Powerful coverage, a semi-glow finish, and a moderate amount of hydration. That is what can easily be gathered from the text. Let's see how many promises this cushion foundation lives up to.

- Long-lasting coverage: In principle, yes. As long as nothing crazy is done or has happened.
- Fades redness effortlessly: Yes, largely! A tiny bit of redness still shows through, but it is largely covered.
- Silky-soft, radiant finish (or semi-glow): Yes!
- Hydrating all day: Yes!
- Nourishing all day: Yes!
- Powerful coverage: Yes, absolutely!
- Sweat-resistant: No, absolutely not!
- Transfer-resistant: No, also absolutely not!
Personal opinion and score
My personal score for this cushion is an 8.5/10! This cushion foundation largely lives up to its promises, and in my opinion, the big hype surrounding this product is completely justified. Although it is absolutely not sweat- or transfer-resistant, the product is otherwise really incredibly good! To be honest, it blew me away a bit. Especially after I first reviewed the silver cushion and had a very bad experience with it. This is truly the complete opposite! It only causes a little dryness around the eyes at the end of the day, but otherwise provides a truly amazing finish. I totally did not expect this on dry, textured skin with natural redness. I also believe that this is compatible with all skin types, because the cushion foundation contains a bit of everything. Highly recommended!
